- ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆Last week I was unfairly billed by Ca tax franchise from sacremento. I've been low income for about 10 years in los angeles. They claimed in year 2007, under my maiden name Jessica Macqueen that I owed $180 in taxes. I grew up in pennsylvania and I kept reading the letter in disbelief. It said not only did I owe $180, that the bill escalated to nearly $600 in fees and penalties. I paid the bill on the internet with "official payments". I didnt get any return confirmation from tax franchise and I hope they dont continue to unfairly bill me. Im low income and receive a tax return each year. I think tax franchise is trying to take advantage of me as an individual with out a lawyer or any family. I really hope tax franchise of sacremento will leave me alone and stop unfairly billing me in future years. Its just crazy for them to pick on an individual when some people do begin to speak up about their rights, even if they are struggling and low income.By Jessica Hast, April 30, 2017
